"In 2025, the Aurora Borealis was visible across New England, a rare treat. I had never seen it before, and seeing it so clearly right here in Connecticut was so cool," says Jordan. "I immediately went to my iPad and started drawing. I wanted to translate the vibrant, shifting colors I saw in the night sky into a design that felt both modern and rugged."

Behind the Art: Meet Jordan Kempain

Every Kempain Original begins as an original hand-drawn illustration. Jordan has been designing and illustrating professionally since 2009, bringing nearly two decades of industry experience to every piece in the collection. His career began in marketing agencies across Connecticut, New York City, and Washington, D.C., but his real inspiration has always been found beyond the digital canvas.

A graduate of the University of Hartford’s Art School and an active outdoorsman, Jordan draws directly from his time spent in the woods of Putnam, Connecticut, to inform every stroke of his pen.
