"I’ll never forget standing in front of a moose for the first time. Granted, it was in a museum in D.C., but the scale was astonishing—it made me feel incredibly small," says Jordan. "When I sat down in Adobe Fresco to doodle this embroidery icon, I wanted to pay tribute to that weight and presence. I designed the front with a focused, simple line art to ensure the technical precision of the sketch remained crisp when translated to thread, and I hand-lettered the 'Wild Giant' script on the back to ensure the mark of the maker was on every angle of the cap".

Behind the Art: Meet Jordan Kempain

Every Kempain Original begins as an original hand-drawn illustration. Jordan has been designing and illustrating professionally since 2009, bringing nearly two decades of industry experience to every piece in the collection. His career began in marketing agencies across Connecticut, New York City, and Washington, D.C., but his real inspiration has always been found beyond the digital canvas.

A graduate of the University of Hartford’s Art School and an active outdoorsman, Jordan draws directly from his time spent in the woods of Putnam, Connecticut, to inform every stroke of his pen.
