It’s March 19th in Putnam CT, and we are officially in the "In-Between."

The snow has melted, the trails are currently made of deep New England mud, and the air can’t decide if it wants to be 30 degrees or 55. This is the season where gear either proves its worth or fails. It’s also when your mental health begins to climb, fueled by the natural Vitamin D we get from finally spending more time outside.

When I started Kempain Family Outfitters, I decided that I wouldn't just sell "stuff." I wanted to build a Mercantile of products that I love and that shared a specific DNA: natural materials, ethical sourcing, and a level of quality that we all look for when curating our own list of things we want. 

I’ve spent months finding partners we can feature in our shop. Vermont Flannel is one I am particularly fond of. I brought Vermont Flannel into the Mercantile because they represent the exact opposite of "fast fashion." They use 100% organic cotton, brushed on both sides for a weight and softness you just don't find easily at your big box stores.

It’s the piece I’m loving the most right now. It’s thick enough to be a jacket during a quick yard cleanup and soft enough to wear at my desk all day. I chose them for their craftsmanship, which is built to last a lifetime.

...and I kinda want to move to Vermont which may be evident in some of my other mercantile partners like Vermont Pottery and Mount Mansfield Maple Products :)
